You will find literally hundreds of Gurus ready to brainwash you into signing up for their particular set of dreams. That is what they are really selling, dreams…….and hope.

Your eyes glow, your heart beats faster, you can’t sleep at night. At last… the answer!!

Welcome, my friend, to the world of internet marketing.

The siren song has led you into a big blue ocean of hopes and dreams, where there are lots of much bigger and cleverer fish, and a good many sharks. Can a little tiddler survive?

One of the first things you notice is that you are no longer an ordinary member of the human race. You are now a member of a sub-species…a newbie. There, you thought you were just a beginner! No, No, the internet has its own language…..

Bombarded on all sides ….. to eBay or not to eBay, affiliates, eBooks…it just goes on.

There are two possible endings to this story. I think we all know what the first could be, so let’s ignore that and concentrate on the positive…… The Happy Ending.

You write that eBook that becomes a cult bestseller around the world, is translated into 60 languages and solves the world economic crisis at a stroke. Or you find that one amazing product that solves every crisis the world has ever known. Climate change is reversed, Icelandic volcanoes stop erupting, and Jeremy Clarkson becomes a polite pussycat. They create a new Nobel Prize especially for you.

Bill Gates, Richard Branson and Ron Woodham come to you for advice. Barrack Obama sends Airforce One to fly you to the White House for an urgent consultation. You are a sensation on MySpace, Youtube, Facebook. In fact, there are so many hits on your Youtube videos that their servers crash and they have to upgrade them before reloading the videos.

Congratulations, you are no longer a newbie. You are now officially a Guru.

But that, dear reader, is another story for another day!

The Dream Life – Your Life!

If you could have your dream life, what would it look like?

You know, if you ask 1000 people that question, you’re lucky if you get 1 or 2 people to give you a definite, accurate answer.

Most stutter and stumble their way to an answer.

Why is that?

Well, pure and simple is that many people don’t know how to create a picture of their ideal life. Most people are going through the day to day of their lives – and that includes business owners and entrepreneurs – living (just about!), but not CREATING.

In my experience, most have given up the idea of living an ideal life. It’s not that they’ve never thought about it, as most have got into business for themselves for precisely that reason, an ideal lifestyle.

But, somewhere along the way, the dream has become diluted and replaced by the routine, mundane, daily grind.

I’m suggesting that you go back to your reasons for getting into your own business in the beggining. Or, if you’re thinking about starting one, think about the reasons for getting into it.

Do you want the freedom of being your own boss, no-one ever telling you what to do again?…

Do you want to spend more quality time with your family and loved ones?…

Do you want to never have to worry about money again by having so much of it that you just don’t know what to do with it all?…

Do you want to work anywhere in the world without having the headaches of any type of overhead – except your laptop?…

Do you want to show all those who said you’ll never make anything of yourself by becoming so successful that the smugness is wiped clean from their faces?…

Do you want to bury the demons that you’ve created about yourself and what you’re capable of?…

Do you want to walk in to any shop and say to the salesperson “how many colours does it come in? … I’ll take them all!”…

Do you want to approach all those you owe money to and pour out stacks of twenty and fifty pound notes from a packed briefcase and say to them, “you count it!”… Reasons, whatever they may be for you, are the most powerful motivators for getting things done.

And so it is with creating your ideal life.
