Advice for Real Beginners!

Mindset Matters

As newbies, one of the first things we learn about when starting out, is the importance of adopting the correct mindset. This is not too difficult at the beginning when we are full of determination  and are carried forward on a rosy cloud of hope and optimism!

But one of the most difficult things for any newbie is to maintain momentum and a positive approach, especially when progress is slow.

Now I am talking about ANY newbies, in ANY field, not just Internet beginners. You could be taking up a new hobby, a new sport, or starting to learn a new language. There is huge eagerness and resolve at the start.

We have all been there, have we not. We know the feelings at the start of any new venture……excitement, hope, and an absolute determination to make things work!

And dreams, oh yes, we have these don’t we! We are going to be the BEST at this thing we are going to conquer. Big hopes, big dreams, and a total belief in what we are about to do. This is especially true of beginners in the Internet Marketing field. Encouraged by the gurus, we buy into every promise they make, and allow them to raise unrealistic expectations in our eager little hearts!

And it can work, of course it can. With hard work and a following wind, many people have immediate success, and achieve their dreams.

But for some, progress can be painfully slow. So much to learn, two steps forward, ten steps back……or so it seems at times! And it is at this stage, that keeping up your determination becomes difficult, and resolve begins to falter.

Nothing wrong with that. Most of us can pick ourselves up and battle on. But beware! It is all too easy to find yourself in a little downward spiral of pessimism where you start to believe that nothing is going to work, nothing will go right, so why bother any more? You find yourself thinking “I won’t bother to try that, it won’t work anyway”, OR “I wonder what is going to go wrong next?”

There has been a great buzz in recent times about the Law of Attraction and here we see it  in action. You find yourself expecting problems, expecting things to go wrong, and guess what…….THEY DO!

So whatever else we do, however difficult it is, we all must make every effort to lock our thoughts in positive mode, and develop the mindset necessary for success.

Remember………………………

“If you think you can, you can, and if you think you can’t, you’re right”

To your success,

Begin Your Business

What to do in a recession?

As people worry about job security and their futures, more and more of them are turning to the idea of setting up their own business and working from home.

When you have finally decided that a home business is for you, there are a lot of decisions to be made. It is crucial that you decide on something that you feel comfortable with, and that will give you the returns you need. Many people dream of a home business, but few take into account the sacrifices that may be necessary to bring their dream to fulfillment.

First of all, think very carefully about what a home business will mean, not just financially, but in terms of social contact. You must ask yourself some very searching questions.

What sort of person are you? Are you the sort of person who enjoys the company of your co-workers, and the social interaction of an office based environment? Do you look forward to discussing the latest films or television programs with your colleagues every day? Or joining a group of them for a drink after work?

This is something your home business will not provide. Think this through very carefully. Your instinctive reaction to this may be that you can’t wait to get away from your awful boss, and any other annoying colleagues!

You must be very sure that you will be at ease in your own company, and content to sit alone at your desk, with only the telephone for company. I cannot stress this enough. There have been cases where someone has left a busy office to set up a home business, ready to enjoy the freedom, only to find that the hours alone have actually caused them to suffer from loneliness, leading to depression. Not the happy outcome you would wish for!

Now you have decided that, yes, this is what you want, how do you choose the right home business for you? Most home business opportunities these days are internet based, and there are thousands of them out there promising untold riches! How do you pick the one for you, one that has a realistic chance of success?

If you already have an interest, or even a product, then obviously this can be the basis of your home business. But remember, research, research, research! This is vital before you make your final decision.

If you are considering one of the many home based internet business opportunities, what should you look for? Whether a home business is product based or service based, the following guidelines will apply.

The first thing has to be stability. Find out how long they have been operating the home business opportunity, and if they have a proven track record. If you have any questions prior to signing up, you must be able to contact them easily, and receive answers to your questions. Most internet business opportunities can mean quite a considerable financial investment on your part, so make sure they offer a money back guarantee. This will give you the chance to decide if it really is for you.

You must choose a home business system that provides full training and back up. Many new entrepreneurs begin a home business without any similar experience, so it is essential to choose a plan that has a good support network, or mentoring system. Being left on your own without support or training can mean failure instead of success.

Finally, remember your most important tool in choosing a home business, your own common sense. Make sure you are not taken in by clever sales talk and exciting promises. Don’t forget that many of the people selling these home based internet business opportunities are trained copywriters, well practiced in making you feel that you absolutely must sigh up immediately!

Think it over for a few days!
