As newbies, one of the first things we learn about when starting out, is the importance of adopting the correct mindset. This is not too difficult at the beginning when we are full of determination and are carried forward on a rosy cloud of hope and optimism!
But one of the most difficult things for any newbie is to maintain momentum and a positive approach, especially when progress is slow.
Now I am talking about ANY newbies, in ANY field, not just Internet marketing newbies. You could be taking up a new hobby, a new sport, or starting to learn a new language. There is huge eagerness and resolve at the start.
We have all been there, have we not. We know the feelings at the start of any new venture……excitement, hope, and an absolute determination to make things work!
And dreams, oh yes, we have these don’t we! We are going to be the BEST at this thing we are going to conquer. Big hopes, big dreams, and a total belief in what we are about to do. This is especially true of beginners in the Internet Marketing field. Encouraged by the gurus, we buy into every promise they make, and allow them to raise unrealistic expectations in our eager little hearts!
And it can work, of course it can. With hard work and a following wind, many people have immediate success, and achieve their dreams.
But for some, progress can be painfully slow. So much to learn, two steps forward, ten steps back……or so it seems at times! And it is at this stage, that keeping up your determination becomes difficult, and resolve begins to falter.
Nothing wrong with that. Most of us can pick ourselves up and battle on. But beware! It is all too easy to find yourself in a little downward spiral of pessimism where you start to believe that nothing is going to work, nothing will go right, so why bother any more? You find yourself thinking “I won’t bother to try that, it won’t work anyway”, OR “I wonder what is going to go wrong next?”
There has been a great buzz in recent times about the Law of Attraction and here we see it in action. You find yourself expecting problems, expecting things to go wrong, and guess what…….THEY DO!
So whatever else we do, however difficult it is, we all must make every effort to lock our thoughts in positive mode, and develop the mindset necessary for success.
Remember………………………
